According to a wise old Greek Proverb…
“A society grows great when old men plant trees they know they will
never sit under,”
The Carpenters Club is not all old men, nor
is it all men. But it is people who help make this society greater
with their constant efforts on behalf of low income families in
Essex County New Jersey. Members of Carpenters Club come from Newark
and from a host of towns in the area. Habitat for Humanity Newark is
proud of the work they do and appreciates each of them.
This hardworking group of men and women has worked building houses
at Habitat Newark every Wednesday and often many of them work
additional days each week. They do a lot of the tougher jobs and the
more complicated jobs in building decent, quality homes. They also
help supervise and instruct volunteers. Many of them are qualified
supervisors.
This year at the Raising Roofs Gala we saluted and honored all of
them and we thanked them for their continued work and support of the
mission.

We have tried hard to get
photos and information on all members of the Carpenters Club but
have not always been successful. If you, or anybody you know, is not
included please send their information to
toolbox@habitatnewark.org
and we will add them to this Website.
