The House That Faith Built

Habitat for Humanity’s mission is rooted in faith-based principals of compassion and service to our community. Members of our faith-based community are some of the most important contributors to our work. Locally, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark welcomes congregations of all faiths to partner with us in building safe, decent, affordable housing for all people.

Each summer, Habitat  of Greater Newark needs the help of your faith community to raise our Faith House in Newark, NJ.

This year’s Faith Challenge calls upon New Jersey’s churches, synagogues, mosques and religious communities to raise funds and build one of our units at Harmony Point, Habitat Newark’s newest urban-style subdivision located in the South Ward. Harmony Point will be the largest development ever in that area and will offer the stability of home ownership to low-income families.

Your sponsorship dollars and volunteer hours during July and August can help us create a home for a hard-working, Essex county family.

Through volunteer work, financial support, and in-kind donations, Habitat for Humanity  of Greater Newark builds simple, decent, affordable homes. Habitat homes are sold at no profit, and Habitat Newark provides affordable mortgages to its Partner Families. By sharing resources, Habitat  of Greater Newark volunteers and donors have made decent, affordable housing a reality for nearly 100 Partner Families.
